This is a poll... I want your opinions. A law in Texas makes it a felony if a teacher has sex with a student regardless of age. So that means high school or college students can not have sex with their teachers or professors. A 25 year old female teacher is on trial for having sex with an 18 year old male student. She can get 25 years in prison for it. Is it right? Is it wrong? why?

Student teacher relationships are taboo for a reason the unconscious influence of the teacher on the student is to great for one to really consider.
That being said, criminalization of such things begins to be a problem. Have they done something that makes them a threat to society? No. However they have behaved in such a way that the teacher should be removed from their role.
So now we look at http://www.ageofconsent.com/ where we see what the societies standards are for sexual contact. I doubt that such a law is going to stand up as a double standard for consent given that the age of consent in texas is 17. Where did you get the information that this law exists?
