It has been a very rainy day. I woke up with the migrain from hell. It puts me into slow motion until I can get some meds into me and they take effect. The kicker was, I had NO alcohol last night whatsoever. My right ear and throat, etc are hurting. It all stems from the toothache that I have had that is recurring. The dentist says I need a root canal, I would rather that just pull the freaking tooth!

Had a great time today dispite the pain. Spent the day with Virginia and had a marvelous time chatting and visiting with all the guests. Tanya Roberts, Linda Blair and Walter Koenig were there today. Tanya's pictures are beautiful. I have not had a chance to check out Linda's and Walter's pics. Although I did see one from the Exorcist that someone had gotten signed. I do not think I will get that one. It was a little gross.

I took a little break and walked around a bit and got to see some of the exhibit hall. Reminder to Self: Self: You must remember to be at a raffle drawing tomorrow at 5:30 pm for the World's Largest Dungeon.

After I got back to the hotel, the hot tub became my home. It felt so amazing. I want to live in a hot tub! Ah then the sauna beckoned. Now that was nice! All that warmth on a chilly day.....ah.......

Dinner was at a restaurant called Alcatraz. The motiff was, you guessed it, Alcatraz Prison. It had pictures from the prison and bars all over the place. The restaurant is part of City Centre Mall and is two stories. I had a double porkloin with garlic mashed potatoes and summer vegetables. Friends enjoyed the Fajitas and another enjoyed the ribs. It was absolutely wonderful and we had an awesomely cute waiter!

My evening was spent playing in the Camarilla Larp. My coterie managed to cause a whole lot of problems for a few people. Ah, but that was one of our goals!!

We (a bunch of Cammies) took a taxi to the White Wolf Party at Port Industry, went in and walked around, decided it was way too crowded and took a taxi back to the hotel and spent some time chatting with friends.

There is a ton of gaming going on of every type and venue imaginable. The vendor room is full of companies plying their wares and new games. A few new things are out that I will try to reveal tomorrow.

DC COMICS CELEBRATES THE LEGACY OF JULIUS SCHWARTZ WITH EIGHT NEW SPECIALS

March 22nd, 2004 -

In commemoration of Julius Schwartz's tremendous contributions to comics, DC celebrates his legacy with eight stand-alone DC COMICS PRESENTS Specials showcasing his unique vision beginning in July. These Specials pay tribute to Julie via one of his best-known editorial trademarks: the cover-driven story.

Some of comics' biggest names take up the Schwartz challenge, with eight classic Silver Age covers each providing inspiration for two 11-page stories by writers and artists who either worked with Julie or were inspired by his work. Each issue also includes Harlan Ellison's moving tribute to Julie, along with the original covers that serve as the inspiration for this once-in-a-lifetime tribute.

"Now that Julie can no longer keep us from embarrassing him, it seems appropriate to celebrate his extraordinary career by challenging a core of writers and artists with one of his favorite tricks," says Paul Levitz, DC Comics President & Publisher, and writer of one of the stories. "I'm frightened by the company that I'm being placed in, but we're all even more frightened that he'll show back up and fix what we've done."

"We actually were developing this project in celebration of Julie's 60th anniversary with DC," says Dan DiDio, DC's VP — Editorial. "It's an opportunity to show our appreciation for his many accomplishments, working with some of the greatest talents in comics. This project is truly a labor of love for all involved in DC editorial."

These titles ship one per week in July beginning with:
